As a family we went to the movies and got there way too early. They were still cleaning our theatre when we arrived. I had all five kids (ages 4 - 11) helping the employees pick up trash throughout the theatre. The manager was so taken back and amazed that everyone pitched in. My kids felt so wonderful making a difference and being able to give to our community - a true act of LOVE!

Here goes - my 1st grade daughter came home and said one of her classmates was getting evicted. To make a very long story much shorter, my husband and decided the family could use a little "anonymous" cash - so every week I give the teacher an envelope with about $25 in it to give to the girls family. It makes us feel good and in these times I hope it is a blessing to the family. LIVE LOVE NOW! Not always easy, but only wasy to live!

My friend is getting married. She didn't want her fiance to see her wedding gown. So, I offered to store it in my spare bedroom closet for her. I've kept it here for several months and today she's coming to get it for her final fitting. I've kept it in a safe place and kept the mystery of her blessed angelic look for the wedding

There are the many things that I get to do for my family and friends each day to practice choosing to Live Love now and now and now.....like a little extra patience for my children when I feel like I am at the end of my rope...or giving up being right and choosing to be loving to my husband...or choosing to love myself and go to bed when it feels like there are still a million things to be done.
Then, there are the things I notice I do for strangers that somehow feel easier (hmmm). For example, I noticed a man carrying what looked like all of his belongings walking down the street in Santa Monica, CA. There was a cooler in my car that I had packed with water and fruit for our day trip. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to offer him a cold bottle of water and some fresh fruit. He was very grateful and so was I to have the opportunity to extend a loving hand to another human being that day.
It is still amazing to me how blessed I feel when someone allows me to Love them!

Actually, I probably do at least 10 loving things for strangers as well as for loved ones without expecting anything in return. The funny thing is that this not only makes others happy, but it gives me great joy as well. Perhaps that is why I am almost always happy--even when life sends me a challenge it is possible to maintain my inner peace. Thank you so much for what you do. "What the world needs now is love, sweet love--for everyone.

As I was walking our company's outgoing mail out to the box today, I noticed an unfamiliar envelope. It was intended for a company I've never heard of, but it had our address. "Return to Sender" had been written in red by our front office assistant. Without even opening the envelope, I could tell that it was a check.
Given these difficult and unpredictable economic times, it is easy for me to imagine that ANY check might make the difference between sink or swim. I couldn't possibly be the judge for what this check, or a delay in receiving it, might mean for its intended recipient, so I brought it back to the office.
I Googled the addressee's name and found that they were still in existence. So I wrote a short note on the back of the unopened envelope, attached a LiveLove card, and placed everything in a new, stamped envelope with the correct address on it. They'll have it tomoorrow.
My second walk back out to the mailbox came with a lighter step.

Today TJ (my husband) and I went to Walmart to do a little shopping. As we were loading our things in our car a lady approached us and told us she had locked her keys in her car and wanted to know if we could help her try to "pick" her lock. She stated that she had a special needs child that she had to pick up from school, and she had called the police to try and get help from them, and they said no. Instead of trying to get the keys out of her car, we offered to take her to her home to get an extra set. She gladly accepted, and as we brought her back to Walmart, we both looked at each other and said "this is what living love is all about!"

so, my goal is to give one of these cards out everyday... and to see what might happen as a result. mostly, i feel pretty happy when i pay it forward & less attached to if the people i give to actually do something with my card. nothing huge yet, but i have given away a t-shirt, paid for someone behind me in line, given away my free zoo tickets, and given away some boxes to someone who needed them..... quite small things in the big picture, but for me it's the ritual of it that feels like something i can settle into. i can't wait to hear MORE of your stories!!!!
peace,

so here's my Live Love story: After meeting a stranger at a dance club and enjoying the evening hanging out, I found towards the end of the evening that all of the alcohol he had drank hit him at once and he was very drunk. Way too drunk to drive home.
He had lost his phone so couldn't call a friend and was out of money so couldn't call a cab, so I decided to drive him home.
After dealing with wrong directions and having to pull over every 5 minutes so he didn't get sick in my car, I finally got him home safe and sound.
He found his phone and called to thank me the next day. I felt like a big sister explaining the dangers of drinking too much, but I don't think I had to. I think he got it.
It didn't occur to me until the next day that I'd acted out of love for a human being, but it felt good. And I know his address now, so I'm mailing him my Live Love challenge card. :-)
Love, Lexy
